As the Google Play Store provides a multitude of entertaining free apps which sometimes turn out to be not useful for you later, you are likely to download some that you don’t use eventually. The unused apps on your Android device can lead to low performance and storage space consumption. Here’s a guide on how to uninstall Android apps and check uninstalled apps.
How to Remove Apps from the Android Play Store?
To remove apps from the Android Play Store, you will have to follow the steps given below.
- Start the Google Play Store app.
- Tap on the Profile icon located at the top right corner.
- Choose “Manage apps & devices” and then select “Manage”.
- Locate the name of the app you wish to remove.
- Tap on “Uninstall“.
How to Disable Android Apps?
Some Android apps may not be un-installable, but they can be disabled instead. When disabled, an app remains on your device but is prevented from running in the background or appearing in your app drawer.
This option is typically available for pre-installed apps that are not essential for device operation. For instance, if your device came with the Facebook app pre-installed, you might not be able to uninstall it, but you can disable it.
- To do this, start by swiping down from the top of the screen (once or twice, depending on your device’s manufacturer) and tap the gear icon to access the Settings menu.
- Proceed by selecting “Apps“.
- If necessary, tap on “See All [Number] Apps” to view the complete list of installed apps. Some devices display the entire list immediately.
- Choose the app you want to uninstall or disable.
- On the app info page, you’ll encounter either the “Uninstall” or “Disable” option. Tap on it.
- A confirmation pop-up will appear, asking if you want to disable the app. Tap “Disable App” to confirm.
- If the app cannot be disabled, the option will be grayed out.
